5 times is the charm -- at least for Mike Jones.
The Peoria Chiefs left fielder tore up the Lake County Captains to the tune of 5 hits in 6 at-bats at Classic Park. The offensive onslaught from Jones powered the 13-2 Chiefs win.
"Jones was a tough out," Lake County manager Chris Dwyer said to the press in the postgame interview. "He hit some very good pitches with that quick bat of his. Not an easy out, that's for sure."
Mike Jones singled in the 1st, struck out in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run double in the 6th, singled in the 7th and doubled in the 9th.
At the moment, Jones is batting .314 with no home runs and 9 RBIs. He has played in 27 games and scored 13 times.
