West Michigan Win Evens Series at 2
The West Michigan Whitecaps defeated the Cedar Rapids Kernels, 11-2, in Game 4 of the Round 2. Making an impact was center fielder Jeff Young, who was 5-6 with a double and 4 singles. The win moves West Michigan into a 2-2 tie with Cedar Rapids in the series.

West Michigan used a well-timed hit by Joe Jacobs to capture the win. The left fielder socked a 2-run double in the top of the first inning to put the Whitecaps ahead, 2-0. Though it was his only hit in 6 at-bats, it was important.

"The Whitecaps definitely had our number," said Cedar Rapids manager Bobby Chouinard.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Veterans Memorial Stadium in Cedar Rapids.
