RiverDogs Heading to Round 2 Tuesday, September 15th , 2026 South Atlantic League pundits who figured the Round 1 between the Charleston RiverDogs and Rome Hammers would go the distance were right on the mark. The two teams battled back and forth in a spirited series, with Charleston coming out on top thanks to a 6-4 win in the deciding game at State Mutual Stadium, to wrap things up 3-2. "You get to the last game and anything can happen, so we're overjoyed to come out on top," said RiverDogs left fielder Tommy Brown, who was named series MVP. For the series, Brown had 9 hits for a .391 average. He had 1 home runs, 6 RBI and scored 1 runs. The Charleston RiverDogs will play against the Delmarva Shorebirds in the next round.
