Young Strokes 5 Hits Saturday, September 19th , 2026 It was a big day for Jeff Young and he brought the West Michigan Whitecaps along for the ride. Young led his club to victory, 11-2, over the Cedar Rapids Kernels at Veterans Memorial Stadium, smoking Cedar Rapids pitching for 5 hits in 6 at-bats. The 22-year-old center fielder later called the victory "sweet." Jeff Young singled in the 1st, hit an RBI double in the 2nd, grounded out in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, singled in the 7th and singled in the 9th.
