Lugnuts, Davis Stonewall Lake County, 5-0
Tuesday, May 19th , 2026
The Lake County Captains manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Lansing Lugnuts. The Captains were overpowered by Lansing starter Bob Davis, who hurled his club to victory, 5-0.
"It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Chris Dwyer said.
Over 9 innings, Davis blanked Lake County on 10 hits with no walks and 9 strikeouts.
"I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Davis said.
"I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one."
Davis has taken the mound for no relief appearances this season, nailing down no saves while notching a 2-2 record with a 4.39 ERA. The Lansing reliever has limited opposing batters to a .307 batting average.
