TinCaps 5-2 Victors Over West Michigan
Bob Curry was instrumental in his team's 5-2 triumph over the West Michigan Whitecaps. The catcher was 3 for 4 with a home run and 2 singles for the Fort Wayne TinCaps. Sergio Gutiérrez, now 2-1, was credited with the win in 3.2 innings of relief. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 4 and walking 2. Sergio Guzmán earned the save for Fort Wayne, his 2nd of the year.

It could have been a different outcome for Fort Wayne, had it not been for Ed Jones, the 23-year old center fielder . Jones contributed a run-scoring single in the top of the sixth inning to put Fort Wayne up, 3-1.

"It was sure nice to get the win but there's a lot of baseball left," Curry after the game.

The TinCaps now have a record of 17-21 with the win over West Michigan.
