Lynchburg Advances to Round 2 Tuesday, September 15th , 2026 Mark one up for the Lynchburg Hillcats. In the crucial final game, they put away the Frederick Keys 8-2 at Ed Smith Stadium to win the Round 1, 3-2 and advance to the Round 2. Although his team came up short, Frederick's Tony Castro was named the series MVP, with many of the league media feeling the series would have been over much sooner if not for his contributions. "Castro did a lot to keep Frederick in it, no doubt about that," said Hillcats manager Nick Markakis. The Lynchburg Hillcats will play against the Winston-Salem Dash in the next round.
