It was not a good day at the plate for the Modesto Nuts. They came up empty when it mattered against Visalia Rawhide left-hander Dan Whaley, who scattered 3 hits across 9 innings and held the Nuts scoreless.
"We had 3 hits so I know he wasn't completely untouchable, but he was close," Modesto manager Audo Vicente said later.
