Bernier Leads Scranton WB to 1-0 Win Over Pawtucket Sunday, September 6th , 2026 The Pawtucket Red Sox manager was philosophical in the clubhouse following a shutout loss to the Scranton WB RailRiders. The Red Sox were overpowered by Scranton WB starter Eric Bernier, who hurled his club to victory, 1-0. "It was just one of those games -- shake it off and do better next time," Wes Timmons said. Over 9 innings, Bernier blanked Pawtucket on 3 hits with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts. "I kept them off balance. I could tell a lot of them were late on fastballs because they were fouling them off. Once you see that, it sets them up for other pitches," Bernier said. "I set them up, where if they chased one breaking ball, they were going to chase another one." This season, Bernier has fanned 160 in 218.1 innings and collected a 13-10 record with a 2.93 ERA. View Boxscore |
