Panik Sensational, 5-for-8
Tuesday, April 16th , 2024
Lehigh Valley second baseman Joe Panik had a big day at Coca-Cola Park against the Buffalo Bisons. The 33-year-old, who is not typically considered a big threat with the bat, went 5-for-8 and led to the 2-1 IronPigs triumph over Buffalo.
"Hey, I'm as surprised as you guys are," Panik said in his postgame comments, smiling as he scolded the press corps for underestimating him. "Maybe I'm not so bad at the plate after all."
Joe Panik singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, singled in the 6th, grounded out in the 9th, struck out in the 10th, doubled in the 13th, struck out in the 15th and doubled in the 18th.
