Charlotte-Buffalo Fight Results in Suspensions
Thursday, August 21st , 2025
Yesterday at Coca-Cola Field Rubén Fabián and Abel Haney got into each other's space and then into each other's face. They began to grapple and fell to the ground. That's when it boiled over into a full-fledged bench-clearing tussle between the Charlotte Knights and Buffalo Bisons. Reason finally prevailed as the umpires restored order. After much discussion, only the two major combatants were ejected from the game.
Today the league office notified the ballclubs that Fabián will have to sit out 4 while Haney would be given a 8-game suspension for their roles in the brawl.
So far on the season, Fabián is hitting .218 with 11 home runs, 38 RBIs and 48 runs scored. He has 81 hits and played in 110 games.
This year, Haney has 30 relief appearances, saving 10. His record is 4-2 with 39 strikeouts in 43.1 innings and a 1.45 ERA.
