Byrd Shackles Syracuse Tuesday, August 12th , 2025 Joe Byrd bent a little, but he didn't break against the Syracuse Chiefs. The Gwinnett Firebirds pitcher hurled a 2-hit, 8-0 shutout in a fine performance, surrendering 3 walks and tallying 10 strikeouts. "Joe is good at getting out of jams," Firebirds manager Jason Bourgeois told reporters after the game. "He's almost more effective when he gets guys on base or gets behind in the count, because he uses your aggressiveness against you."
