Delmarva Tops West Virginia Again, 3-0
The bats were silent for much of the day at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. But Delmarva designated hitter Jimmy Koch conjured up just enough offense to carry the Shorebirds past the West Virginia Power, 3-0. In a game dominated by the pitching staffs, Koch threw 6.1 innings of shutout ball. The Shorebirds now lead 2-0 in the best-of-5 series.

With scoring opportunities rare, the Shorebirds had to cash in when they had the chance. One such opportunity presented itself in the bottom of the fourth, when third baseman Walt Ellis hit a 2-run single. The single came off Mike James and made the score 3-0, Shorebirds. Ellis went 2 for 5 with 2 singles, while adding 2 RBI.

Delmarva manager Tripp Keister commended his team for exhibiting "no shortage of effort."

The next game is set to be played for Saturday, September 12th , 2026 at Appalachian Power Park in Charleston.
