In a tight tilt between the Norfolk Tides and the Toledo Mud Hens, Christian Flores was the deciding factor. The Norfolk right-hander spearheaded the 2-1 win. The win was credited to Nelson Castillo in relief. His record improves to 3-2. Dylan Nash took the loss. Norfolk goes to 14-19, Toledo to 22-11.

The Tides were down to their last out in the bottom of the ninth inning, when 26-year old catcher Juan Madrid landed a big blow. He turned a full count fastball from Dylan Nash into a 2-run single. The walk-off single sent the Harbor Park denizens into a frenzy and sent the Tides home with a thrilling 2-1 win.

"The old adage is true," said Madrid. "Good pitching stops good hitting."
