Bulls Suffer One-Run Loss at Charlotte
|
The Charlotte Knights topped the Durham Bulls, 4-3, in International League action at BB&T Stadium. The game was highlighted by the performance of Charlotte designated hitter Tony Smith. Joe Dyer earned the save for Charlotte, his 7th of the year. The loss drops Durham to 17-8.
Third Baseman Juan Ortíz made an impact for Charlotte, when he swatted a 2-run double off Eric Cartwright in the bottom of the second. For the contest, Ortíz went 1-2 with a double and 2 walks, while adding 2 RBI.
"Honestly, I'm not frustrated," said Durham manager R.A. Dickey. "The effort was great."
