Rochester Red Wings starter Rob Williams pitched effectively against the Scranton WB RailRiders at PNC Field. The right-hander spearheaded his team's 8-3 win. Williams, now 13-9, was the winner. In 7 innings, he gave up 7 hits, while striking out 5, walking 1, and allowing 2 runs. With this game in the books, Rochester is 62-80, Scranton WB 57-85.
Tulio Garcia had a big 2-run home run for the Red Wings in the top of the third inning. With Rochester trailing 1-0 and a runner on 1st, he sized up a fastball from 33-year old right-handed pitcher J.R. Bradley and punished it. The result was his 13th home run of the season, which put the Red Wings on top, 2-1.
"Rob has got a slow heartbeat," said Rochester manager Chad Epperson. "He doesn't panic or anything."
