Diaz Lifts Firebirds to 6-4 Win
Brandon Diaz made an impact in the 6-4 Gwinnett win over Charlotte. Diaz went 4-5 with a home run, a double, and 2 singles, while scoring 3 times. Ken Hamilton earned the save, his 2nd in 4 tries. Gwinnett now has a record of 76-65 with the win.

It could have been a different outcome for Gwinnett, had it not been for Kevin Cornelius, the 31-year old third baseman . Cornelius contributed a run-scoring sacrifice fly in the top of the seventh inning to put Gwinnett up, 5-3.

Cornelius told a Gwinnett News reporter that he was "satisfied" with the win.
