RailRiders Win, 3-2, in Extra Frames
|
The Scranton WB RailRiders topped the Pawtucket Red Sox, 3-2, in International League action at McCoy Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Scranton WB pitcher and Tahlequah, Oklahoma, native Andy Walker. The winner in relief was Luis Velásquez. He is now 1-2. The right-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 2.1 innings. With the win, Scranton WB pushed its record to 70-70.
Scranton WB took a 3-2 lead on Steve Baker's 21st double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Baker hit in the top of the 11th, left Pawtucket pitcher Ken Patrick visibly frustrated.
"Every time I step on the mound, I want to go out there and compete and bring my best game," said Walker.
