Syracuse registered a win at PNC Field by beating the Scranton WB RailRiders, 5-2. Pitcher Hugh Lemley was one reason why the Chiefs triumphed. Lemley got the win, improving to 9-11. He gave up 8 hits and walked 2 over 7.1 innings. He allowed 2 runs.

Syracuse third baseman Jesús Saldaña contributed a timely at-bat in the top of the seventh. With two down, he hit a curveball to left-center field for a 2-run single. It was his 81st hit of the season and put the Chiefs ahead, 5-2.
