Norfolk left fielder Joaquín Pérez helped his team beat the Charlotte Knights, 8-2. Pérez, who is tied for 4th in the IL in stolen bases with 19, went 4 for 5 for the Tides. Brad Johnson recorded the save. In save chances, he's now 6 for 9. Charlotte has now lost 8 straight.

Norfolk center fielder Alfredo González helped the Tides go up, 2-1, in the bottom of the sixth inning. With the game tied, González hit a run-scoring single off Charlotte pitcher Dave Smiley.

"We haven't been playing to the level we want to play," said Charlotte manager Jose Gualdron.
