Bulls Win Thriller, 3-2
|
The Durham Bulls topped the Pawtucket Red Sox, 3-2, in International League action at Durham Bulls Athletic Park. The standout performance belonged to Durham pitcher and Addison, Illinois, native Ben Lake. The Bulls raised their record to 16-6.
The clutch at-bat came in the bottom of the ninth inning, when Durham first baseman Bob Hoffman, facing Sam Taylor, had a run-scoring sacrifice fly. It gave the Bulls the 3-2 win.
"I'll probably toss and turn tonight," Pawtucket manager Wes Timmons said, following the tough loss.
