Chiefs Deal Mud Hens 4-1 Defeat

In baseball, each game is unique. This one was no different.
Syracuse Chiefs starter Mike Adkins pitched a strong game against the Toledo Mud Hens at Fifth Third Field, leading the Chiefs to victory, 4-1. Adkins got the win, improving to 10-7. He allowed 7 hits and walked 1 over 8 innings. Adkins allowed 1 run. Joe Ward was credited with the save, his 28th in 33 tries.
Syracuse used the timely hitting of Carlos Tatis to capture the win. The right fielder socked a 3-run home run in the top of the sixth inning to put the Chiefs ahead, 3-0. It was his only hit in 3 at-bats, but it was a big one.
"Can't say enough about our pitching," said Tatis.
With this game in the books, Syracuse is 64-58, Toledo 85-37.
