3-1 Triumph Runs Clippers Streak to 6 Games
|
In a low-scoring contest between the Columbus Clippers and the Scranton WB RailRiders, 22-year old right-handed pitcher Orlando Galindo proved to be the difference. The Columbus right-hander earned props for his performance in the 3-1 Clippers win. Galindo picked up the win for Columbus, going 7 innings. He gave up 1 run on 5 hits. He now sports a record of 2-1. Juan Álvarez earned his 16th save in 18 tries.
Anthony Garcia, who is tied for 9th in the IL in home runs with 15, chipped in a solo home run for Columbus in the bottom of the fourth. For the game, the first baseman had 2 hits in 5 at-bats with 1 home run, 1 single, 1 run scored, and 1 run batted in.
In comments to the Columbus Today, Galindo admitted he's been told to improve his work habits. "But," he said, "I know when to take it to another gear."
The RailRiders, now 51-70, have lost 4 in a row.
