Ken Barnes impressed in the 6-3 Rochester win over Durham. Barnes, who is tied for 6th in the IL with a .325 batting average, was 4-5 with 2 doubles and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI. Dave Weaver, now 1-1, was credited with the win. He allowed no runs on 2 hits, while striking out 0 and walking 0. Randy Lewis finished the game for Rochester and earned his 8th save.

Barnes had a game-changing double in the top of the ninth. On a first pitch fastball from Reynier Montero, he banged a 2-run double to left-center, giving the Red Wings a 5-3 lead. It was the 3rd double of the year for Barnes.

Red Wings manager Francis Costello praised Barnes after the game. "I keep telling everyone," he said, "'Don't go to sleep on this kid.'"

The win gives Rochester a record of 11-10.
