Mud Hens Improve to 49-48 with 5-1 Win
|
Pitcher António Peña was rock solid in helping the Toledo Mud Hens beat the Scranton WB RailRiders, 5-1. Peña, the winner, moves to 1-2. He threw 6 innings of 3-hit ball, while fanning 2 and giving up 3 walks. Mauro Orama notched his 1st save in 1 chances.
Chris Welch had a big 2-run home run for the Mud Hens in the bottom of the fourth inning. With Toledo leading 2-1 and a runner on 1st, he got a fastball from Jesús Barajas and swatted a home run to right. It was his 2nd home run of the season, and more importantly, it put the Mud Hens ahead, 4-1.
Toledo manager Yusmeiro Petit commended his team for "banging out a nice win."
With the win over Scranton WB, the Mud Hens improved to 49-48.
