The Lehigh Valley IronPigs picked up a win at Coca-Cola Park, knocking off the Durham Bulls, 4-1. On the mound for Lehigh Valley was right-hander Luis Gil. He played a key role in the triumph. The winner was Gil. He threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball. The loser was Ben Lake. Lehigh Valley is now 57-40, 2 games up in the North Division.
The IronPigs got a big at-bat from first baseman Edwin Little. For the game, Little was 1 for 3 with a home run. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 2nd, he stroked a 3-run home run. His 14th home run of the season gave Lehigh Valley a 3-1 lead.
"Luis executed his pitches at a high level," said Lehigh Valley manager Mel Pritchard.
