Red Sox Eke Out 2-1 Win Versus Buffalo
|
Fans witnessed a whale of a game between the Pawtucket Red Sox and Buffalo Bisons.
Pawtucket starter Jim Jones put a stranglehold on the Buffalo offense. The right-hander had complete command of his curveball in leading the Red Sox to a 2-1 win. Jeff Moore got the save, his 12th in 15 chances.
Mal Bickerton, who leads the IL with a .880 OPS, helped out the Pawtucket cause in the bottom of the third inning with a run-scoring ground out. For the game, the right fielder was 1-4 with a home run. He drove in 2 runs and scored once.
"Wins don't come easy," Bickerton told the Pawtucket Today. "They don't just hand them out like lollipops."
With the win, the Red Sox hiked their record to 46-36.
