The Lehigh Valley IronPigs racked up a win at BB&T Stadium, bumping off the Charlotte Knights, 5-3. Dave Blackburn, who started for Lehigh Valley, pitched effectively for his team. The IronPigs are off to an underwhelming start as they look to defend their championship, notching only their 6th win in 14 games.

Jeremy Martin went 1-3 with a double. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for Lehigh Valley. With one out and the game tied in the top of the eighth inning, Martin, who is tied for 8th in the IL in runs scored with 8, had a clutch at-bat. Facing Charlotte hurler T.J. Adams, he hit a sacrifice fly to give the IronPigs a 4-3 lead.
