In a high-scoring contest between Lehigh Valley and Pawtucket, center fielder Gus Manley was a difference-maker. Manley distinguished himself in the 9-8 Lehigh Valley win. He was 4 for 5 with a triple, a double, and 2 singles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once. Lehigh Valley reliever Robby Davis picked up the win, raising his record to 1-0. Had Cheslor Cuthbert not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Cuthbert hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 9-8, in favor of the IronPigs.
