Late Rally by Red Sox Secures 9-6 Win
Red Sox shortstop Doug Watkins put his stamp on his team's 9-6 win over the Syracuse Chiefs. Watkins went 2 for 3 with 2 doubles, while adding 4 RBI and scoring once for Pawtucket in the contest. Pawtucket pitcher Wilson Hernández got the win, upping his record to 1-0. Alejandro Viloria got the loss. The win puts Pawtucket at 2-1.

The game was at a stalemate until center fielder Konstancji Andrychowski came to bat in the top of the eighth. Facing Syracuse pitcher Eury De La Rosa, he hit a first pitch fastball for a 2-run single. It was a game-changer, putting Pawtucket on top, 8-6.

In postgame comments to the Pawtucket Today, Andrychowski said, "If the effort is there, the wins will come."
