Red Wings Beat Visiting Bisons, 3-0
|
Rochester pitcher Kevin Jackson had a large part in his team beating the Buffalo Bisons, 3-0. The right-hander kept opposing batters in check throughout the game. Jackson yielded no runs over 6.2 innings to notch the win. He scattered 3 hits, walked 2, and struck out 5. His record improves to 1-0. Steve Becker stitched up the save, his 1st.
Rochester took a 2-0 lead on Greg Boyson's 1st triple of the season. The run-scoring triple, which Boyson hit in the bottom of the seventh, left Buffalo pitcher C.J. Edwards visibly frustrated.
"Our offense was purring," said Rochester manager Chad Epperson. "Like a well-oiled machine."
The Red Wings, now 2-1, have played some good baseball in the early going.
