The 2025 season is off to a good start for the Rochester Red Wings. The hometown Red Wings knocked off the Buffalo Bisons, 7-1, at Frontier Field. Rochester pitcher Ed Bates paced his team to the win. Adrián Cruz closed it out for Rochester, earning his 1st save.

The Red Wings got a big at-bat from center fielder Jorge Cota. For the game, Cota went 1 for 5 with a triple, while adding 3 RBI. In the bottom of the fourth, with the bases loaded, he stroked a bases-clearing triple. His 1st triple of the season gave Rochester a 4-1 lead.

"We didn't play well enough to win," said Buffalo skipper Drew Saylor.
