Late Rally by Clippers Secures 4-2 Win
|
The Columbus Clippers scooped up a win at Huntington Park, dumping the Toledo Mud Hens, 4-2. Ron Reinert, who is rated as the 81st best prospect by BNN, was essential to his team's success. The win was credited to Angel Rodriguez in relief. His record improves to 3-1. César Rodríguez took the loss. Picking up the save was Juan Álvarez, his 2nd.
Columbus took a 4-2 lead on Mike Lynch's 1st home run of the season. The 2-run home run, which Lynch hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Toledo pitcher César Rodríguez visibly frustrated.
After the game, Columbus manager Carlos Garcia applauded the team's effort. "They busted their humps out there," he said.
The win for the Clippers raised their record to 33-30.
