Floundering Red Wings Lose 7th Straight
Despite a great performance by Rochester right fielder Steve Myers, the Pawtucket Red Sox defeated the Red Wings by the score of 6-5 at McCoy Stadium. Myers was 4 for 5 with a home run and 3 singles. He drove in 3 runs and scored once. Pawtucket reliever Duane Underwood was the winner. His record is now 1-2. Jimmy Hernández took the loss. Picking up the save was Jeff Moore, his 6th.

Pawtucket took a 5-4 lead on Mario Pérez's 9th double of the season. The run-scoring double, which Pérez hit in the bottom of the eighth, left Rochester pitcher Duane Hutchins visibly frustrated.

"Everyone's kind of edgy right now," said losing manager Chad Epperson, "but nothing a couple of wins wouldn't cure."

The Red Sox have now won 5 straight.
