Red Sox Win by Slim Margin, 8-7
The Pawtucket Red Sox topped the Syracuse Chiefs, 8-7, in International League action at NBT Bank Stadium. The standout performance belonged to Pawtucket pitcher and Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, native Andrew Heaney. Pawtucket reliever Derek Holland picked up the win, upping his record to 2-0. Enyerbeth Lugo absorbed the loss. The win lifted the Pawtucket record to 31-28.

Pawtucket used the clutch hitting of Jorge Souza to capture the win. The third baseman drilled a run-scoring double in the top of the 17th inning to give the Red Sox the lead, 7-6. For the game, Souza had 2 singles and 1 double in 8 at-bats.

Red Sox manager Jed Lowrie raved about Heaney after the game. "I thought Andrew was 'lights out.'"
