The Toledo Mud Hens beat the Louisville Bats, 3-2, at Fifth Third Field. The Mud Hens got a fine performance from center fielder Kurt Newton, who was 4 for 5 with 2 home runs and a double. Dylan Nash earned the win after being brought in from the bullpen. The left-hander allowed no runs on 1 hit in 1.1 innings. His record is now 3-3. The Mud Hens improved their record to 41-16 by beating Louisville.

In the bottom of the tenth, with the score tied, Newton hammered a solo home run to win it for Toledo.
