Spirited fans greeted the Durham Bulls for their clash with the Syracuse Chiefs.

Thom Stevens pitched a gem to lead Syracuse to victory over the Durham Bulls, 9-1. Stevens, now 2-1, was the winner. In 6.1 innings, he gave up 5 hits, while striking out 6, walking 4, and allowing 1 run.

With two out in the top of the sixth, Carlos Sepulveda put Syracuse in front, 4-1, with a 3-run home run. The Chiefs went on to win the ballgame.

"We'll sip on a cold one and savor this win," said Sepulveda.

The Chiefs improve their record to 27-29 with the win over Durham.
