Arrows Capture Close Win
|
A good performance from first baseman Dave Murray helped the Indianapolis Arrows defeat the Rochester Red Wings, 5-4. Murray went 2-4 with a home run and a walk. He drove in 2 runs and scored once for the Arrows. The winner was Indianapolis reliever Tad Miller, now 2-1. The loser was Chris Mason. The Arrows now have a record of 13-34.
Who knows how it would've ended, had it not been for Neill Wassink? The slick-fielding second baseman Wassink stroked a run-scoring double in the top of the ninth inning to put Indianapolis up, 5-4. For the game, he was 2 for 4, including 1 double and 1 single.
