Red Sox Lose to Rochester, 7-4
|
Pawtucket right fielder Mal Bickerton had a good game, even if his team did not. The Red Sox dropped a 7-4 decision to Rochester at Frontier Field. Bickerton went 4-5 with a home run and 2 doubles, while adding 2 RBI and scoring once. Curt Boyd picked up the win with 7 innings of work. He allowed 4 runs on 10 hits, while walking 3 and striking out 5. On the season, he is now 2-5. The win lifted the Rochester record to 21-21.
Rochester left fielder Orlando Rivera helped the Red Wings go up, 6-4, in the bottom of the seventh inning. With the game tied, Rivera hit a 2-run single off Pawtucket pitcher Sam Bell.
"Win or lose, we pick each other up in this clubhouse," Rivera told the Rochester Today.
