Loss to Knights Extends Gwinnett Losing Streak
Getting a good performance from left fielder Tony Smith, the Charlotte Knights defeated the Gwinnett Hammers, 8-2. Smith was 3-4 with 2 triples and a double. He scored 2 runs and drove in 3 for the Knights. The loss makes Gwinnett 17-21.

Charlotte grabbed the momentum in the bottom of the fifth, when Smith hit a 2-run triple off Jeff Reid. His 3rd triple of the season put the Knights out in front, 4-2.

"From the last whatever, five, six, seven games, there's really only one way to go and that's up," said losing manager Ron Warner.
