Clippers Rally to Nose Past Louisville
|
Columbus Clippers starter Lou Williams pitched well against the Louisville Bats at Huntington Park, leading his team to a win, 2-1. Columbus reliever Jake Snow was the winner. His record is now 1-0. Tony Miles took the loss. Jesus A. Sanchez earned the save, his 1st.
Ron Walker drove in one run for Columbus. The 23-year old second baseman had a key at-bat in the bottom of the eighth. With one out and the bases loaded, he broke a 1-1 tie with a run-scoring sacrifice fly off Nick Rumbelow. It was his 29th RBI of the season.
"If you pitch well, you give yourself some opportunities," said Columbus manager Carlos Garcia.
With the win, Columbus pushed its record to 27-11.
