Mud Hens Thwart Arrows, 4-2
|
Toledo pitcher Jon Dwight had a large part in his team subduing the Indianapolis Arrows, 4-2. The opposition could never mount much of a rally against the left-hander. Dwight, now 4-0, was the winner. In 6 innings, he gave up 2 hits, while striking out 9, walking 3, and allowing 2 runs. Dylan Nash collected save number 9.
The Mud Hens got a big at-bat from right fielder Chris Welch. For the game, Welch was 2-3 with 2 doubles and a walk. In the bottom of the fourth, with runners on 1st and 3rd, he stroked a run-scoring double. His 4th double of the season gave Toledo a 3-2 lead.
"We'll keep playing hard and let the chips fall where they may," said Toledo manager Yusmeiro Petit.
The Mud Hens have an impressive 27-11 record.
