Raucous Grayson Stadium Crowd Propels Sand Gnats to 5-3 Victory; Series Tied at 3
The Savannah Sand Gnats and the Lakewood BlueClaws will take the Round 2 to a decisive 7th game. In a must-win situation today, the Sand Gnats beat the BlueClaws 5-3 at Grayson Stadium to force the series into what will essentially be a one-game playoff. Savannah right-hander Luis Cordero had a big role in the win. He threw 5.0 innings allowing 2 runs.

Had Héctor Cabrera not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the seventh, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and runners on 2nd and 3rd, Cabrera hit a 2-run single. That made the score 5-3, in favor of the Sand Gnats.

Cabrera called the win "what playing unselfish baseball looks like."

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Grayson Stadium in Savannah.
