The Frisco RoughRiders have closed some of the gap between themselves and the series-leading Corpus Christi Hooks, winning, 4-1, at Whataburger Field. RoughRiders left-hander Blake Taylor threw 8.0 innings of shutout ball. The win cuts the deficit facing the RoughRiders to 2-1 in the best-of-5 Round 1.

Taylor, who was born in Mission Viejo, California, threw 107 pitches over 8 innings, while allowing no runs.

"Nice to see our side come away with the win," Taylor said after the game.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Whataburger Field in Corpus Christi.
