Savannah Win to Pull Even With Greenville
The bats were silent for much of the day at Fluor Field at the West End today. But Savannah right fielder Héctor Cabrera conjured up just enough offense to carry the Sand Gnats past the Greenville Drive, 3-0. In a game dominated by the pitching staffs, Cabrera hit 2 home runs. The win brought Savannah into a 2-2 tie with Greenville in the best-of-5 series.

Savannah relied on the bat of Steve Rose to get the win. The center fielder ripped a solo home run in the top of the fourth inning to put the Sand Gnats ahead, 2-0. For the game, Rose had 1 double and 1 home run in 4 at-bats.

"We faced good pitching and still got it done," said Rose.

The next game is set to be played for Wednesday, September 13th , 2023 at Grayson Stadium in Savannah.
