Riding the 3-hit performance of first baseman Ron Wolf, the Corpus Christi Hooks got a road win against the Frisco RoughRiders, 5-1, in Game 2 of the Round 1. Wolf hit 2 home runs. He drove in 4 runs and scored twice for the Hooks, who now lead the best-of-5 series, 2 games to 0.

Wolf had a key at-bat in the top of the first to put Corpus Christi in front, 3-0. With a runner on 2nd, he hit a 2-run home run off Frisco pitcher Wally Carter.

"We're one game closer to our goal," Corpus Christi manager Alex Gordon said later. "It isn't any more complicated than that."

The next game is set to be played for Saturday, September 14th , 2024 at Whataburger Field in Corpus Christi.
