Suns Clip BlueClaws 2-1 in R1 Contest
The Hagerstown Suns went the distance and then some at First Energy Park today to drag themselves back into a tie with the Lakewood BlueClaws.

It took 11 innings to settle Game 2 of the Round 1, but Hagerstown eventually took the 2-1 win behind the efforts of starting pitcher Pat Hale. Hale threw 8.0 innings of 7-hit ball to aid the Hagerstown cause. The clubs are now tied 1-1 in their best-of-5 series.

Though he didn't earn the victory, Hale kept his team in the game until the bullpen took over and the Hagerstown offense came through. Over 8 innings, he allowed 7 hits and 1 run, while striking out 6.

During his postgame press conference, Suns manager Bobby Williams told reporters that he expected a tight game from the get-go. "This had the potential to go down to the wire, and it certainly didn't disappoint," he said, later quipping, "it might've been a little less nerve-racking if I had been watching the game from my couch!"

The next game is set to be played for Sunday, September 10th , 2023 at Municipal Stadium in Hagerstown.
