Spikes Pocket 5-3 Win Against Williamsport
|
The State College Spikes topped the Williamsport Crosscutters, 5-3, in New York-Penn League action at Medlar Field at Lubrano Park. The game was highlighted by the performance of State College right fielder Greg Burrell. Rob Crawford closed the game out for State College, earning his 1st save. The victory makes State College 2-0.
Burrell had a timely hit for State College in the bottom of the sixth. With State College trailing 3-2, he turned a 1-2 fastball into a 2-run home run. It was his 2nd home run of the season, making it 4-3, State College.
"Good to get a win," said Burrell, "but it's a long season."
