González Helps Delmarva Take Round 2 Game 1
The Delmarva Shorebirds started the Round 2 in style, downing the visiting Charleston RiverDogs at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium by a score of 11-6 to stake an early 1-0 lead in the best-of-7 series. Shorebirds right-hander Alfredo González threw 5.1 innings of shutout ball.

Walt Ellis hit a 2-run double off Greg Saunders in the bottom of the eighth, which put the Shorebirds in front, 8-6. In addition to the double, Ellis had 1 single, while going 2 for 5.

"Just glad I could help us get a win," said Ellis.

The next game is set to be played tomorrow at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium in Salisbury.
