The Greensboro Grasshoppers topped the Hagerstown Suns by a score of 4-2. Leading the way was catcher Jim McLaughlin. McLaughlin went 3-5 with a home run and a double, while adding 3 RBI and scoring once for the Grasshoppers. Clarence Woods recorded the save, making him 3 for 3. Greensboro is now 87-51, 7½ games up in the Northern Division.

With Greensboro trailing 2-0 in the top of the third, McLaughlin hit a curveball from Max Walden for a 3-run home run. It was his 6th home run of the season and put the Grasshoppers ahead, 3-2.

"The effort we put into this one paid off," McLaughlin said.
