The Greensboro Grasshoppers picked up a win at NewBridge Bank Park, topping the Hagerstown Suns, 5-1. On the mound for Greensboro was right-hander Sam David. He played a principal role in the triumph. Ken Patrick earned the save for Greensboro, his 20th. Hagerstown, at 44-59, has lost 5 straight.

The Grasshoppers picked up the win with a combination of good hitting and good pitching.

"We understand we didn't play our best baseball," said losing manager Lonnie Chisenhall. "We'll shower it off and be ready to compete."
